Carol Abbasi I am a parent of Jamil in year 4 who has attended Carleton House since starting school. I have always tried to take an active part in the day to day life of the school and supported as many events as possible. I am Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors and am a member of the Finance, Appointments and Curriculum and Safeguarding Committees. I hope to bring to the role my experience both as a lawyer working with charities and my experience of managing a childcare provider as a volunteer. In my working life I am a Partner at Hill Dickinson, a law firm. Originally from the North East I trained in Liverpool and Chester to become a lawyer and have now lived in South Liverpool for the past 20+ years. I was chairman for 5 years of Kelton Nursery, a parents owned nursery registered for 102 children and 45 afterschool children so I have gained extensive knowledge of managing a nursery and childcare facility in that capacity. My interests are my family, swimming, reading and music. I am also an active member of Soroptimist International (a worldwide service organisation for women). |

Jon Egan I have had two daughters at Carleton House. My eldest daughter Roisin is now at Merchant Taylors, whilst my youngest Eilis, is still enjoying life at Carleton in year 5. Both my girls have received a great deal from this school. I became a governor to give something back, to ensure the School's future success and ensure that future generations benefit from everything that this exceptional school has to offer. I am a founder Director of Aurora Media - a Liverpool-based PR and marketing company, and do a great deal of work in the education sector. I was formerly a local authority Councillor and served as a governor on two LEA schools including a large Catholic Secondary school in Cheshire. I am a member of the Marketing, Foundation Stage and Health and Safety and Building Committees. |

Nichola Lee I have three children at Carleton. We chose the school because we like its ethos and it felt just right - that magical 'Spirit of Carleton'. For this reason, I joined the Board of Governors because I wanted to contribute to Carleton's development, continuing success and to 'give something back'. Professionally, I work in economic regeneration and have extensive business management experience in the public and private sectors. My early career was in marketing and I am Chair the Marketing Committee. I am also a Trustee of Lister Steps, a social enterprise which provides childcare in one of Liverpool's most deprived areas. |

Barrie Sharpe My interest first started in Carleton House when I attended some of the school social events in the late 70s, with friends whose children were pupils. In 2001/2 my goddaughter Katie Mitton was made Head Girl and when my granddaughter Isabella was born in 2003 I had no doubt she would attend Carleton House, a decision as a family we have never regretted. In 1970 I started a company called Outlook Windows . With 7 showrooms and a factory in Prescot employing nearly 200 staff, this kept us busy until the end of 1984 when we sold out to an international business. After a sabbatical in 1985 my wife and I formed a mental health unit in North Wales and we ran that for 19 years before joining a large hospital and nursing home group. I was very honoured to be accepted onto the board of Governors and hope to be of service to the school in the years to come. I am a member of the Finance, Marketing, Appointments and Health and Safety and Building Committees. |
