A new building for the 21st century
After more than 30 years in its current home Carleton House is moving to a new location on Menlove Avenue, at the junction with Cromptons Lane. The school will open at this site at the start of the new Autumn term in September 2009.
This move is part of a major school development to ensure that the school community is able to stay in touch with the times while retaining the same values which have made it one of the most highly sought after preparatory schools on Merseyside. The site is being renovated and turned into a school fit for the 21st century.
- This will include a complete refurbishment. All classrooms will have whiteboards and modern facilities designed to help our children learn in a stimulating environment
- The playground area will be extended and together with the opportunity to use Calderstones Park will provide even more space for sport.
- A new kitchen for hot lunches.
- A brand new facility for Foundation Stage 1 (pre-school 3+)
- The building has the benefit of a large hall for lunches, indoor play and assembly.
- There will be a larger staff room where the teachers can mark and prepare for classes.
- Facilities will also be enhanced in the administration office
- Further unused space in the basement and second floor will be developed over time to create additional facilities.
This move will safeguard the school's future, enable us to plan with certainty whilst continuing to provide an excellent education for preparatory pupils.
